I co-founded Snapwire, an innovative platform that connected over 400,000 photographers with brands to create on-demand bespoke imagery. This success eventually lead to its acquisition by StudioNow. Snapwire was the first platform to offer an alternative to stock photography by linking mobile creators and brands in real-time to complete imagery requests via a mobile app, helping to define today's ubiquitous creator-influencer-brand platforms.
As social media and mobile photography grew, brands began to demand more and more bespoke imagery. To meet this need, we launched the first real-time creative platform connecting photographers and brands. Snapwire enabled brands to post creative 'missions', photographers submitted images in Snapwire's game-like mobile app, and brands the selected the winning images.
This cut brands custom imagery timelines from weeks to days, and allowed brands to work with thousands of photographers instead of just one. Photographers earned 70% per winning image, disrupting the typical 10% stock photography payout model.
I led product, creative, brand, and growth, while also recruiting and managing a team. We launched an award-winning pre-launch campaign that attracted 25,000 photographers on day one. This led to growth on the platform to 400,000+ creators, partnerships with Google and Adobe, and an eventual acquisition.
